Justin Mitnik is a versatile trombonist based in Orange County, California, with a career spanning symphonies, pit orchestras, international touring productions, studio work, and theme park entertainment. Equally at home on tenor and bass trombone, Justin is recognized for his adaptability across classical, commercial, and Broadway styles.
Internationally, Justin toured Europe and Asia from as a featured soloist with Blast MIX: Music in Extreme along with a soloist role with the Tony and Emmy Award–winning production Blast and Shockwave. He has performed with the Santa Monica Symphony, Salisbury Symphony Orchestra, Reading Symphony, and the Metropolitan Wind Symphony in Natick, MA. His theatre credits include The Music Man, Annie, Legally Blonde, and The Producers.
Justin’s extensive theme park performance experience includes current work in the Disneyland Band in Anaheim, CA and past engagements with SeaWorld: San Diego and LEGOLAND California. He has also performed on commercial projects such as the MTV Movie Awards and regularly appears with many chamber groups.
As an educator, Justin is on faculty at Santa Ana College teaching applied trombone and serves as a brass instructor with the Impulse Drum & Bugle Corps. A member of AFM Local 7 and a past member of the International Trombone Association, he has also taught extensively in Massachusetts and California, inspiring students at all levels with the belief that “the role of a music educator is to replace an empty mind with an open one.”
Active throughout Los Angeles and San Diego, Justin continues to balance high-level performance with mentorship while expanding his work in theatre, orchestral, and commercial music.
